The Gregar Extractor† is the first major advance in laboratory extractor design in over 100 years. Developed by Joseph Gregar and Ken Anderson of Argonne National Laboratories, this extractor is the only unit on the market that can perform all three common types of extraction (See the illustrations). During solid extractions the extractor operates upon the principle of continuous solvent displacement, permitting the sample to be immersed in solvent at all times, thereby increasing the efficiency of the solid-solvent interactions. The design eliminates packing and/or channeling of solid samples normally associated with common soxhlet extractors.

Complete extractor is supplied with extractor body, cold finger condenser, extra coarse extraction thimble, and solvent guide. The CG-1506-17, 24/40 250mL round bottom flask and auxiliary condenser (CG-1213 or CG-1218-A) are sold separately.
